Puy de Dôme
On July 22, 1876, Emile Alluard placed on the top of the Puy de Dome the first permanent meteorology laboratory of mountain (1,465 m asl). The observatory is actually managed by the LAMP (Laboratoire de Météorologie Physique). Located about 10 km west of Clermont-Ferrand, the Atmospheric Research Station at Puy de Dôme, is within a mountainous area of 26 013 km2 named Auvergne. Located in the regional natural parc of Auvergne Volcanos, the vegetation influence co2 fluxes with photosynthesis and soil respiration. The industrial sector is responsible of major polluted emissions of CO, CO2, SO2 and Nox.
