Station Nord is a Danish Military base with a permanent staff of 6 persons. During the summer June-August there is usually up to 50 guests on the base, mostly construction workers. All roads are gravel roads, and there is a 1800 m long airstrip and an apron in connection to the base. A generator, providing power to the base, is located approx. 240 meters NE of the 80 meter mast. The exhaust height for the generator is approx.6 meter above ground. There are no settlements within a 100 km radius from Station Nord. (Nearest settlements are Thule Air Base approx. 1200 km towards south-west and Danmarkshavn approx. 535 km towards south-south-east).
